neighbor calls 911 cuz my dog in yard barking at them– he knew it was my dog- but he went inside and called 911 instead of me-cop came dog barking and growling outside its fence but in yard- on approach of officer gembu barked and growled- did not jump on him, did not bite officer- officer made no attempt to find out whose dog it was nor did he back off-WIFE LOOKED OUT WINDOWS AFTER TWO SHOTS FIRED, cop was in my yard in firing position and the neighbor couple who called 911 supposedly trapped in car was standing behind him on my sidewalk, police car behind them with door open.and i ran out cursing and yelling- neighbor said he called cuz dog was in back yard barking at him- he tried approach my dog-(later chief said they was trapped in car)-this same cop had calls earlier this week about a dog nipping and barking at people-but it was BLACk! it looks as if he drove up jumped out of the car when he seen my dog charged to the sidewalk leaving car door open- my dog ran toward him, in my yard ,barking– (deep good bark)-cop pee pants or something and shoots twice in direction of my house – hits dog once– lucky other bullet didn’t hit my 2 girls in house age 4&2-(chief didn’t seem to mind that he discharged his weapon endangering my kids)what can i do? dog had surgery today- may lose leg- pin may not hold 7 pieces broken bone-50% chance keep leg-will cost over 500- have no idea if police will pay– officer hughs had no business pulling and firing his weapon- what kind of training these people get anyways–now monday night they deliver a letter from police chief declaring my dog a dangerous animal- but letter has no date on it– they are trying to cover their behinds– they wrote me a ticket Saturday for (dangerous dog) at large– no leash law (25$ fine he kept me waiting 20 min to give me ticket while my dog suffered and i couldn’t go vet-but now they try this dangerous dog notice with no date -makes me wonder if they are trying to say that’s why they shot the dog– but the notice was given after they shot-anybody know if they give dangerous dog notice to every dog found with no leash?
